Here's another great story that supports the "progressive" Open Border and Anti Gun agenda items, right?

How much of this story do you think we will read or watch in the "Progressive" PR/Tank Team Media?

Noteworthy:

"The fire fight occurred in a sparsely populated area about 12 miles (20 kilometers) from the Arizona border, near the city of Nogales, that is considered a prime corridor for immigrant and drug smuggling.
....All of the victims were believed to be members of the gangs.

The shootings occurred near a dirt road between the hamlets of Tubutama and Saric, in an area often used by traffickers."

The Obama rhetoric versus the Obama reality

We've talked a lot about how badly Obama has failed on the economy and other major domestic issues, but we also need to keep focused on how he's endangered our national security.

In only nine months, The Obama administration is shaping up to be the most calamitous mistake the American public has ever had to endure.

"Welcome to government of the activist, by the activist and for the activist"

Obama's failed "Stimulus", which apparently no one in Congress read, was mainly written by a collection of Leftists and "Regressives" of the most radical and obnoxious sort.

Excerpt:

"Clearly, the stimulus bill that no congressman read is not working. As it turns out, no congressman may have written it either. It's largely the creation of a coalition of leftist organizations called the Apollo Alliance, whose primary interests are saving the Earth, environmental justice and redistributing wealth. They are not friends of job-creating capitalism.

On Apollo's Web site, Sen. Reid, whose state also leads in foreclosures, is quoted praising the group of which former green czar Van Jones was a board member.

'We've talked about moving forward on these ideas for decades,' Reid is quoted as saying. 'The Apollo Alliance has been an important factor in helping us develop and execute a strategy that makes great progress on these goals and in motivating the public to support them.' "

Why are we allowing Obama and his thug pals to operate like this?

We need to re-double our efforts to make sure we rid our nation and our people of this most ob noxious political, social, and economic re-making ever seen in America's history.

Last week's Obamacare speech made no real difference

Even the ABC/WaPo poll admits it, much to their chargrin and their best attempts to marginalize the implications.

It's not surprising, despite the Tank Media Tag Team's best efforts to discredit and downplay all the things negative about Obamacare, and the Obamanation in general.

Witness the latest example, the underreporting and misreporting of the massive protest in our nation's capital last Saturday:
"The Daily Mail said 2 million Americans participated. My friend Charlie Martin extrapolated from the pictures an attendance figure of 2.3 million. Here is a time lapse of the parade portion of the event so you can get a feel for yourself of the size of the crowd. Whatever the actual number it is sure to be seriously underestimated by the Obama-besotted members of the press corps who are also likely to misrepresent the participants and their views."

Some of the lefty blogger dummies (yes, I know-- that's redundant) actually tried to tell us there were only 30,000 in attendance!

Meanwhile, Joe Wilson hasn't been hurt by the Democrat demonizing of his truth-telling. Here's a reason why (2:56 mark):

Regarding the Van Jones "truther" news

Byron York marvels at the lack of a Tanked Media feeding frenzy.

Excerpt:

"If you were to receive all your news from any one of these outlets, or even all of them together, and you heard about some sort of controversy involving President Obama's Special Adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, your response would be, 'Huh?'"

Gosh, Byron.

As Instapundit suggests, it's not like Jones said "Macaca", or something.

At any rate, WaPo's too interested in detroying Bob McDonnell to care.

Will they be dumb enough to "Wellstone" Ted Kennedy's memorial?

I'd say the odds are close to even that the "regressives" haven't learned their lesson from the backlash from the over-the-top pep rally the Paul Wellstone memorial turned out to be in 2002.

Captain Ed weighs in.

"At least thus far, nothing proposed by the Kennedy family or by Democrats comes close to matching the crass spectacle of the Wellstone memorial. The 'do it for Teddy' meme is practically expected by voters, which is why it won’t have much effect; it’s too obvious a manipulation to work on anyone but the true believers, where it won’t count anyway. The next election is not a few days away but fourteen months. Even if speakers get out of hand at the service, which Democrats will probably work hard to prevent, the impact will have dissipated in a fortnight.

A 'Wellstone effect' is probably nothing more than wishful thinking, but it’s equaled by the hope of a 'Kennedy effect' on ObamaCare. Unless Democrats get very, very stupid about it, the memorial will have little impact on anyone except the mourners — which is exactly how it should be."

Let's hope the Kennedy family makes it clear (to the Teleprompter-in-Chief and fellow Usual Suspects alike) that there will be no circus atmosphere permitted at the funeral, nor will it be sanctioned at any other organized memorial any where else.

That sort of thing should be left to the shameless hacks of the Tank Media and their looney toon allies in the blahgosphere.

"The Art of Obama Worship"

"Worship" is certainly the right word to use when discussing a political figure whose accomplishments are (and continues to be) non-existent in any matter of substance, but rich in rhetoric, imagery, marketing, and illusion.

Noteworthy:
"Obama is hardly the first president whose physical likeness has been the subject of devotional art. Yet the others who achieved this status did so only after they had accomplished something great, like Washington, or had been martyred, like Kennedy, or in the case of Lincoln, both. Obama’s iconic status is of a different nature, an artifact not of his presidency but his identity—a youthful man of mixed race and remarkable attractiveness upon whom the greatest of expectations have come to rest. This means that the role played by art, and by artists, has been different in Obama’s campaign and presidency from any other in American history."

Obama and his Tank Media Tag Team pals neither listen to you nor care what you think

Watch the way the Obamanation Perpetual Campaign kicks into high gear to propagandize for the passage of their overwhelmingly unpopular vision of "health care reform", and the shameess way his Tank Media Tag Team partners will pimp for The Agenda.

Noteworthy:
"What I am concerned about, and warning everyone about, is the media machine that uses these organized events to broadcast the agenda. Framed differently, these activities aren't meant to convince attendees that healthcare is good; these activities are meant to manufacture the news, spread propaganda tropes, and over-inflate the image of the pro-socialized healthcare forces. PR stunts. The Obama modus operandi is to make his goons look bigger than they are. These are the people who will make a group of twenty conservatives appear diminutive with a far-away camera angle, and then give individual interviews to all three liberal attendees. It's just like a real estate agent photographing a small house from the best angle. Organizing for America is an illusion. It is the Wizard of Oz.

The operating methods are predictable enough. Health Care for America Now is the other group involved, and they've enlisted union leaders to send their grunts along. You'll recognize Obama-style unionists when you see them; they are good at getting media attention; they're frequently loud, make for good angry mobs, and get bulk rates from Kinko's on the signs their illiterate members carry. I'm just grateful many unionists aren't this way, and oppose this bill, too.

And you will see them. The operation will be simple; bus in supporters, give speeches, tell lies, and do not give any opposition an opportunity to speak. It's Obama's election campaign all over again, brought to you by Obama's own campaign committee. America, we have seen this tired strategy over and over, and here it comes again. I wouldn't be surprised if Green Day put on a free concert to get a crowd so they could record all those people listening to the local senator for the 30 second pause. Again."

More:
"Let's be charitable and assume that Barack Obama is telling the truth for the first time in his political life when he says that his health care plan won't impose rationing. Granted, it may seem that given the fact that he wants to cut $500 billion from Medicare just as millions of baby boomers are about to enter the program, you'd have to adopt the view that Obama is able to perform something along the lines of the miracle of the loaves and fishes to make that an honest statement, but that's not true. Enter the IMAC. They will be the ones telling Grandma that she is in for the Michael Jackson "you're better off with the painkiller than the surgery" protocol, not the Dear Leader. So, he won't be imposing rationing. If only Stalin knew....

The Supreme Court can invent new rights out of thin air by seeing imaginary penumbras emitting magical emanations, and, in the short term, there's not a thing the American public can do about it. At best, once imposed, there might be some hope that these cases can be overruled, either by legislation or by a subsequent Supreme Court decision. Not so with decisions about Medicare funding. If President Obama gets his way, and an unaccountable bunch of presidential appointees decides that your life isn't worth living, the only reversal you may see is the change in your status from living to dead."

Obamacare Question of the Day

Q: What's the difference between the Associated Press and the Obama campaign?

A: The AP admits the public is against it.

From James Taranto who has more about the issues and the outcomes involved.

To sum it up:
"There's one more difference between Obama and the AP: He is a politician trying to get a piece of legislation passed. One expects him to shade the truth, to downplay inconvenient facts. Politicians have even been forgiven for outright lies. By contrast, of what use is a news service that is not rigorously impartial and factual?"
Absolutely none, but it's what we've come to expect for the Tank Media/Obama Chief Cheerleader team.

Perspectives on the impact of the Gates incident

Heather MacDonald: "Obama's Ignorant Attack On Cops"

Excerpt:
"President Obama’s ignorant attack on the police during his July 22 press conference for picking up blacks and Hispanics 'more frequently and often time for no cause' jeopardizes the public-safety gains in every city where the police have brought crime down since the early 1990s.

When activists and politicians, not to mention the President of the United States, accuse the police of bias, some officers decide that proactive policing is not worth the risk to their jobs and reputations. It’s easier to wait for someone to be shot than to try to get that gun off the street before it is used. No government welfare program has come close to effective policing in reviving inner-city neighborhoods.

If President Obama wants to continue that urban success story, he should acknowledge the value of policing and the hard work of the countless inner-city officers who tell themselves every day they go out on patrol: 'I work for the good people of this neighborhood.' "

Harry Stein: "Unteachable"

Excerpt:
"What are we meant to be taught? Well, what else? That for all of the progress we seem to have made on race, black people understand, in ways whites can never fathom, that racism is alive and well in America.

With each such incident, however, fewer and fewer of us are playing along. This time, more than ever, we’re learning other lessons. One of them: for all the talk from his starry-eyed acolytes, in the media and elsewhere, about Obama’s being 'post-racial,' the president clings to the discredited and deeply damaging view of America as fundamentally racist, seeing his fellow blacks as perpetual victims justifiably suspicious of cops and other establishment authority figures.

So when it comes to race, it’s facts be damned. Indeed, while Obama is so famously cautious and deliberative it took him months to decide on the family dog, his now-infamous off-the-cuff comment on the stupidity of the Cambridge police made it clear that on this issue, the former community organizer wholeheartedly embraces the black victim/racist cop trope.

....We’ve also been reminded, once again, that the media are to be trusted even less on race than on other contentious issues. The New York Times, for one, seems always to have a racial-profiling feature prewritten and ready to slap onto the front page. Yet somehow these features never seem to include the vast store of documentary evidence contradicting the fervently held view of minorities as victims of racist cops.

Perhaps the most telling media moment during the Gates brouhaha was the observation by an NPR anchor—only slight paraphrasing here—that opinion was divided over whether the police were to blame or there was fault on both sides.

'Teachable moments' never teach these people anything."

Not that truths like these will make any difference to the "raaaaaaaacism"/"hate crime"/race baiting crowd nationally and locally.

Michelle Malkin: 'Obama is a racial opportunist'

Did you notice how glum Lauer the Twerp was at the end of the piece?

He obviously thought he could use this opprotunity as a "teachable moment" to advance his agenda nonsense, but Malkin flat out nailed it (and him), leaving Lauer little choice other than to shut up, and move on.

Tom Friedman and Green Scaremongering, pt 2

Today's "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" global warming climate change moment.

Globalization maven, New York Times arrogant ass hypocritical columnist Tom Terrific Friedman, on Cap 'n Trade:
"Yes, this bill’s goal of reducing U.S. carbon emissions to 17 percent below 2005 levels by 2020 is nowhere near what science tells us we need to mitigate climate change. But it also contains significant provisions to prevent new buildings from becoming energy hogs, to make our appliances the most energy efficient in the world and to help preserve forests in places like the Amazon."
Guess who lives here?

Just a day in the life of yet another elite media jerk.

'Lifeboat Ethics': Why Seniors should fear Obamacare

You think that scenario wouldn't be a valid concern for Seniors under Obamacare, when private insurance is inevitably forced out of existence?

You probably have a firm belief in the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and Santa Claus, too.

This might change your mind about the possible outcomes under Obamacare:

"But not everyone agrees with my view that Lifeboat Ethics cases are best used to discuss exceptions to general moral guidelines rather than to set the guidelines themselves. And since Obama has insisted on many occasions in the past, especially when running in the primaries against Hillary Clinton, that it is his health care plan we are considering when we discuss the plan soon to be presented to Congress, it is I think reasonable to now ask relative to some important situations, whether Obama would let you into his lifeboat.

Situation One: Are you over 70 years old? If so, then you have real reason to worry about whether he will let you in. Developers of his plan understand that the bulk of the nation’s health care resources are used by senior citizens and they are looking for ways to ration care to the elderly.

In our last article we looked at an argument they favor which would ration care to the elderly and terminally ill based on a Cost-Benefit Analysis. Another plan now being seriously considered here and in Great Britain is to set an arbitrary age cap on receiving health benefits. This hearkens back to an idea originally espoused as far back as 1987 by Daniel Callahan, that humans have an average expected life span (figures of 70 yrs. to 85 yrs. have been mentioned in discussions of this point) and persons who have lived up to this age have no right to expect that we extend them medical care beyond it.

In other words, we are not here talking about a situation where, for example, if two patients, a 75 year old and a 25 year old were competing for the same donated liver, then the relative age of the patients would be one factor health care workers could take into account when making the decision as to who gets the organ. This proposed policy would instead use age alone as the sole criterion for denial of care. And it would not be health care workers but government who would exclude the 75 year old by setting a standard which would deny him/her from receiving health benefits on the basis of age alone!"

On the other hand, your mind might be so numbed from all the babble, dribble, drool, and spew used to implant the Dem/Lefty/"Progressive" agenda indoctrination through government schools and the Tank Media all these years, you may not have an operative mind left to change.

And don't even think about mumbling something about "scare tactics", particularly regarding anything in reference to a disastrous Obamanation policy.

Elsewhere in the blahgosphere, you'll read that 'liberal media bias is a myth'.

It's coming from the Blue Bozo Brigade's Usual Suspects, near and far, including those on the local scene who always exclaim "Who, me?", when confronted with their thinly veiled propaganda .

Information like this exposes that particular babble-on "progressive" theme, and those who enable such a theme, as completely bogus:

Noteworthy:

"In the week since South Carolina’s Republican Governor announced he had flown to Argentina to carry on an extra-marital affair, the broadcast morning and evening news shows have gone full bore on the scandal, cranking out 49 stories even in the midst of other major stories like Michael Jackson’s death and the continuing repression in Iran.

The morning after Sanford announced his affair, on the June 25 Good Morning America, longtime correspondent Sam Donaldson used the scandal to broadly charge Republicans with being 'sanctimonious. They thump the Bible. They condemn everyone else, and when they [act] human, they don’t have much credit in the bank for forgiveness.'

Unlike when New York Democratic Governor Eliot Spitzer was caught consorting with a prostitute in March 2008, all three broadcast networks immediately identified Sanford’s Republican Party ID.

A number of top Democrats are enmeshed in embarrassment or facing allegations of wrongdoing, but the networks have far less interest in publicizing those cases."

Alternately clued behavior from both highbrows and lowbrows

The proof of such is almost everywhere we look and it's enabled some really stupid policies and ideas, with little to no actual regard for the results.

Noteworthy:
"But legions of idiots voted for a man who was plainly unqualified, even by his own estimation, and surrounded by a bunch of malignant sociopaths like Wright and Ayers and all the rest. How could he possibly win? Well, Obama cynically appealed to the idiots -- the young, the stupid, the naive, the silly, the rock idol worshippers, and probably the drug-addled masses, all the lowbrows in the land.

That includes the idiot savants of academia. Academics have a very narrow band of intelligence, something that satirists since Aristophanes have noticed and poked fun at. The first philosopher in Western history was Thales of Elea; Thales featured in Greek folklore as a man who walked around at night gazing at the stars only to fall into a ditch. That's probably a folksy giggle at the absent-minded professor who is constantly bumping into walls. But there's a big element of truth in it. Academics can be incredibly ignorant and dumb outside of their small areas of expertise. Professors and media scribblers generally lack human smarts. They are sure suckers for all the con artists of the day.

Obama is a smooth-talking hustler who has specialized in charming academic liberals, like a smart graduate student who needs to impress his teachers with every word. They just dote on him, like a proud parent smiling on a favorite child. He's their dream, a black man who sounds so smart."

In his press conferences he hypnotizes all the ink-stained wretches of the media. It's a sight to behold. The man swats a fly and the suck-ups of the media go ga-ga with applause, and go back and write articles about it. That's not just a reflection on their (lack of) character and judgment. It's not just their childish immaturity. It's a reflection on their brains, or rather, on all that empty space between their ears.

Our media stars are just not very bright. They're idiots. That single fact explains a lot. (And yes, they are also corrupt, easily seduced, haunted by deadlines, decadent in their values, and very prone to mob thinking. But if they had any brains it might be harder to manipulate them like this. The White House just pulls their strings and they dance.)"
No one can say they haven't been warned.

Ultimately, they're too dumb, too obstinate, or too arrogant to understand the consequences.

'The Obamacare horror story you won't hear'

Michelle Malkin:
"The White House, Democrats, and MoveOn liberals are spreading health care sob stories to sell a government takeover. But there’s one health care policy nightmare you won’t hear the Obamas hyping. It’s a tale of poor, minority patient-dumping in Chicago — with First Lady Michelle Obama’s fingerprints all over it."
Read the rest, and then go here.

Excerpt:
"Michelle Obama’s installation as the face and voice of the government volunteerism boondoggle only deepens suspicions about the role she and her staff may have played in Walpin’s sacking. So does her past exploitation of the 'community service' mantle to reward Chicago politicos."
Again, read the rest.

Can we say "politically, ethically, and morally corrupt presidency"? Can we say "Advanced Libthink Thuggery"? Can we say "Totally Tanked Media/ Obama PR Team"?

Yes, we can!

ABC to pimp for Obamacare

Patriot Post US:

Obamacare Takes Center Stage

"ABC News is lending itself to the Obama administration for the night of Wednesday, June 24, for a live broadcast of ABC World News Tonight from the Blue Room of the White House. This will be followed by an hour-long primetime special entitled 'Prescription for America,' which will advocate the Obama health care plan. The Republican National Committee noted that with the absence of opposing views, the programming amounts to little more than a campaign commercial -- one that should rightly be paid for by the Democratic National Committee.

ABC predictably took offense and claimed that it will have complete editorial control over the content of the program. Or at least as much control as the White House wants them to have.

As columnist Cal Thomas observes, 'By the way, guess who's the new director of communications for the White House Office of Health Reform. It's former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass, who left journalism last year to join the Obama campaign.' How convenient.

The network claims it will have 'thoughtful' and 'diverse' perspectives on the plan, but one noteworthy absence is '20/20' anchor John Stossel, who will not be participating. A pity, too, for if anyone at ABC has the requisite 'thoughtful' and 'diverse' perspective, it's Stossel. (See his 2007 health care report for more.)

Obama's reason for taking to the airwaves is that his proposal is facing stiffer opposition than anticipated. First, his estimate of $634 billion over 10 years is wildly optimistic. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that the plan will cost $1.6 trillion over 10 years and 'result in a net increase in the federal budget deficits of 'about $1 trillion,' despite Obama's reassurance that his reform (read: takeover) 'will not add to our deficit over the next 10 years.'

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-MT) promised to cut $600 billion from the proposal and to pay for it with tax increases, spending cuts and other offsets. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-NY) said the plan includes $600 billion in tax hikes and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.

Furthermore, the CBO estimates that 23 million Americans will lose the insurance they currently have, contrary to Obama's key promise that no one will lose insurance. '[T]he number of people who had coverage through an employer would decline by about 15 million (or roughly 10 percent), and coverage from other sources would fall by about 8 million,' the report says.

The CBO estimate is so ugly for Democrats, The Hill reports, that 'lawmakers are talking about changing the chamber's normal accounting procedures,' substituting estimates from the White House Office of Management and Budget for those of the CBO. So much for 'transparency.'

Considering the whole of Obamacare, one Patriot reader declared, 'I haven't heard health care advice so laughable since Lucille Ball flogged Vitameatavegamin on TV. "It's so tasty too. It's just like candy."

Has our president been hitting the Vitameatavegamin bottle himself? Not to worry, though. Even though socialized medicine has proven an abject failure in every venue trying it, the United States is such a big country that, like Lucy and Ethel selling homemade salad dressing below the cost of their ingredients, no doubt 'We'll make it up in volume. ' "

'Narcissus And Echo: Obama And The Mainstream Media'

For some time now, it that the relationship between the Teleprompted-in-Chief and his fawning acolytes (carefully disguised at "The Media") has been an almost incestuous adoration.

But Robert Bowie Johnson, Jr. sees it from a different perspective. He says the relationship between the Obamanator and his Tank Media PR team resembles one of Greek mythology.

Noteworthy:

"It is troubling that our president is a pathological narcissist caught up in the thought patterns of Darwin, Marx, and Alinsky. Even more troubling is the fact that the Mainstream Media (MSM), suffering from an Obama-inspired narcosis, shirks its duty, refusing to publish or even explore any aspect of Obama's dark side. There is room for much optimism, however. If the ancient story of Narcissus and Echo plays itself out as Ovid recorded it, and Obama and the MSM are their contemporary counterparts, both will fade away in the not too distant future......

....What of Narcissus? Abandoned, without an Echo, he becomes distraught and pines away, utterly consumed by his passion for his image. Those who search for his body can find only his namesake Narcissus flower. Obama will also disappear from the scene, a pretender caught in a trap of his pride's own making. Those who search for his substance will not be able to find it. He will become the symbol and memory of a time when too many Americans lost their moral and spiritual bearings, abandoned foundational principles, and all-too-eagerly embraced 'a reflected form which has no substance of its own.' "

Let's hope Mr. Johnson is prescient.
