Putting government between patients and their doctors

Karl Rove details what must be done to make sure Obamacare doesn't become the disaster that is its legacy. Eliminating the public option is the key.

Excerpts:

'It was a sobering breakfast with one of the smartest Republicans on Capitol Hill. We can fix a lot of bad stuff President Barack Obama might do, he told me. But if Mr. Obama signs into law a 'public option,' government-run insurance program as part of health-care reform we won't be able to undo the damage.

I'd go the Republican member of Congress one further: If Democrats enact a public-option health-insurance program, America is on the way to becoming a European-style welfare state. "
...and:

"In other words, the public option is just phony. It's a bait-and-switch tactic meant to reassure people that the president's goals are less radical than they are. Mr. Obama's real aim, as some candid Democrats admit, is a single-payer, government-run health-care system.

Health care desperately needs far-reaching reforms that put patients and their doctors in charge, bring the benefits of competition and market forces to bear, and ensure access to affordable and portable health care for every American. Republicans have plans to achieve this, and they must make their case for reform in every available forum."

  2. "Selfish prick", says the Little Prick.

Before you run your mouth, Asshole, why don't you find out how eligibility for VA medical treatment is allocated, and exactly who gets Medicare benefits.

Here's a hint: I have no service related disability, and I don't qualify for Medicare.

Get your damned facts straight, imbecile.

  4. I was referring to Rove. I concede that my comments may not apply to you, Bob, because, for all I know, you may be disqualified from VA health care for something like a dishonorable discharge and possibly mot eligible for Medicare because you did not pay Medicare taxes on your income.

    Blah blah, woof woof.

You want to talk about YOUR military service record, Ace?

Also, I have told you previously that I am too young to be eligible for Medicare?

And get your damn facts straight about Rove, and about who actually qualifies to care under the VA system.

If you had done any research on him, you would know he's NOT a veteran, and he's also not yet eligible for Medicare.

  6. Roch never lets fact stand in the way .

Why the hell should "civilians " get the same medical care as those who have served and earned that medical care! Veterans were guarenteed that care for the service and sacrifice to their country . Just what the hell kind of sacrifice have you made or the rest of the damm libtards who scream so loud about health care being guarenteed to them . BS , that about sums up the whole situation as well as the ideology of the libtards .
As Bubba said Roch, get your facts straight or STFU.
