They are necessary, and they are accurate..
I criticize his attitude, his methods, and his motivation.
Do you consider that a "personal attack"?
If so, I will give you a plethora of examples of his work that qualifies as 'personal attack'.
The double standards enforced at some blogs, including his, are legendary.
I'm holding him accountable for his words and actions.
I am hardly alone in those sentiments."
Also, look at the smarmy and arrogant responses from Cone and Sue Polinsky.
It strikes me that the ersatz royalty of Greensboro's blahgosphere is feeling a little threatened.

Well, I'm not sure how long I was banned, I didn't try to post again for a couple weeks, as I recall.
ReplyDeleteNevertheless, I felt the comments for which I was banned fell far below the nastiness bar set by other posters, even in the same thread.
I'm sure I needled JR by my constant criticism of Lorraine Ahearn's biased, racist, misquoted, and generally inflammatory "news" stories in which she sought to destroy Chief Wray in pursuit of some agenda, possibly spurred on by the so-called black leaders in our community. Was it a "personal" attack on Ahearn? No, it was an attack on her questionable professional performance and lack of journalistic ethics in reporting fairly and with balance.
Where does the line between a personal attack and an attack on professional performance lie? I've been disciplined by superiors for work errors even though we were friends, and I've disciplined friends for work errors when necessary.
I have no personal grudge against Ahearn; we've met on numerous occasions (professionally) and I run across her socially now and then. But her liberal editorial finesse crosses over a bit much into her "straight" news reporting and I fear she doesn't know how to separate the two.
I'll continue to call 'em like I see 'em.
