Speaking of Doom and Gloom predictions, as opposed to the actual Good News.....

It seems like impending doom of American society as heavily predicted by most of the Dem/Lefty/Progressive seers, and by a lessor number of conservatives, didn't quite turn out as planned.

The good news:

"In attitudes toward education, drugs, abortion, religion, marriage, and divorce, the current generation of teenagers and young adults appears in many respects to be more culturally conservative than its immediate predecessors."

  1. Yes. Thank God for small favors. The children do seem to have more sense than their parents.

The groups who came thru the 70's and 80's lost their morals and took to hedonism like ducks to water. Those who came behind played follow the leaders and now it is a case of one upmanship and look where our 25 to 40 year olds are now. No values, no morals,no beliefs and I don't believe they even have any hope. The pictures in The Rhino of Greensboro's night life turn my stomach, and I never considered myself a prude.

The teens however are moving in another direction entirely.

But then this has ever been the way of social norms with the pendulum swinging back and forth and never stopping until it hits a point where enough is enough of either extreme and then it starts back and unfortunately goes too far in the other direction. Maybe this time it will stop at a reasonable point since this is the first time in recorded history that the "common" people have accepted and indulged in hedonistic behavior. Before this time it was restricted to the so called upper classes who had too much leisure on their hands and therefore discovered mischief. Which of course aptly describes our ages "common" people doesn't it? BB
