I Wonder how Barry Lynne Knows

that it's a depiction of Jesus?

Is there an inscription beneath the picture that says "Jesus, Messiah, Redeemer,Savior, King of the Jews, Son of God?

Nah, that would be too easy.

  1. Fox News says that it's a picture of Jesus. That not good enough for you?

  2. Everybody knows what Jesus looks like, there's pictures of him everywhere. I've known what he looked like since I was a kid from pictures at my church.
    LOL

Thanks for the affirmation that you feel Fox News is infallible, Roch.

I always cherish those occasional tidbits of clear reality that we get from you, especially under the most unexpected circumstances like this. Those rare moments are memorable above the rest of your stuff.

  4. And Barry Lynne saw the title beneath the portrait with his very own eyes, even when it may not have actually been there?

Nah, that would have been too easy, Stew?

You're beginning to sound more like our pal Ed every day. You're even going out on the same shakey limb like him.

  5. Let's go back to the linked site and the following excerpt from the
    Dan England blog:

"How does hanging a picture of Jesus establish a religion anyway? When I was a substitute teacher I saw many pictures hanging on the walls of the schools I was in of Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses These Gods and Goddesses are worshiped today in many pagan religions. Read about this here."

I bet Roch will tell us there's an implied Constitutional right not to have to look at the referenced depiction, whether it's labeled as "Jesus" or not.

No such right exists to prohibit depictions of pagan gods and goddesses however. That's "culture", while "Jesus" clearly violates the Constitution according to the True Believers.

  6. "As for your quote from Dan England's blog, I haven't said a single word about the Constitutionality of the portrait."

I don't recall writing anything that said you did, Stew.

On the other point, my original post obviously went way over your head.

    Why am I not surprised?

  7. Stew Stew Stew Stew STEW!

Read the headline and the first paragraph of my original post.

Did Barry Lynne PHYSICALLY see the picture on the school wall, and the caption I suggested he might have seen?

For a cartoonist who works with images to tell a story, you take words WAY too literally.

"As I've mentioned before, you are not surprised because you only hear those things which fit with your pre-conceived notions. Things that don't fit with your point of view you either ignore or interpret in a way that is consistent with your beliefs. Therefore, you are never surprised."

Pot calling kettle...how do you read, over??

  9. It's called sarcasm, Stew......and it's not my obligation to help you comprehend it.

You've been hanging out with Roch and Cone too much. Stop taking yourself so seriously.
