I can imagine some of these things being said in certain circles: "Well, of those darn Israeli's hadn't provoked the Palestinians then it wouldn't have happened!" "It's Israel's fault for bringing this on themselves." "The Israeli's are waging an illegal war." "Why didn't the Israeli's just negotiate? Force is not the answer." "It's all President Bush's fault!"
And that's just [hypothetically] Lex Alexander's take at the N&R...LOL...
Oh I am so sorry to hear that this card has been played. Dam! But, it has taken much, much longer to happen than I thought it would as I expected iot years ago. WMD's are so easily obtained. Now that this action has been taken I don't see how Isreal can not use their nuclear to take out Iran and thus make the others understand that they are top dog in the Middle East, and will stand for no more nonsense. It has after all been half a century that they had been trying to build a country and a life at peace with their neighbors. The terrorists are all backed by some government and without this support they will fall apart. Or if that doesn't happen Israel just makes it clear that even a suicide bomber on their turf means a well aimed missile on the country of origin. As for knowing the country of origin, I am sure Israel knows everything there is to know about the other Middle Eastern countries. They are the same genetic background and understand each other's cultures well enough to have effective spies. BB
I've been amazed at the Israeli restraint through the years. Even while Saddam's Scuds landed in israel during the first Gulf War they kept their forces at bay. When Palestinian terrorists indiscriminately kill ordinary citizens, men, women and children, the Israeli's surgically remove specific key leaders in precise attacks. However, Israel is not a country to be trifled with. The Palestinians may have bitten off more than they can chew this time. Appeasement means nothing to the Palestinians; they want to remove Israel and Israeli's from the face of the earth. No amount of negotiation, persuasion, or kow-towing will change that. The Palestinians only understand force.
Gen. Claire Chennault said this about war: "I'll tell you about war...war is about killing people, and when you kill enough they stop fighting."
How long will that Israeli restraint last?
ReplyDeleteAt what point will the Israelis decide the line has been crossed by the Hamas terrorists, and by the terrorists who run Iran?
