Are you ready for your massive energy tax hike?

If Dingy Harry gets his way, the Senate will enact it.
Excerpt:
"Obama wants to end this for the oil industry. Because it’s a 'subsidy.' Which is a neat play on words. When he throws taxpayer dollars at 'green energy' flops like Solyndra, it’s 'investment.' When we let oil companies keep some of their own money, it’s a 'subsidy.' "

The ongoing political failure in Washington

Countering Obama's domestic oil rhetoric

"In any case, any attempt to get at these vast new oil supplies is sure to face fierce opposition from environmental groups worried about oil production's direct impact on the environment, as well as global warming worries.
But given today's prices, most of the public is willing to expand drilling offshore, in ANWR, and in shale oil reserves, according to the latest IBD/TIPP poll.
'This is not a geological problem — it's a political problem,' said Dan Kish, senior vice president for policy at the Institute for Energy Research. 'We've embargoed our own supplies.' "

There's only one way to solve this political problem......vote the Democrat miscreants out. That's been the solution to solve ALL the political problems we face from the last 3+ years of lies, corruption, mal/misfeasance, and the obnoxious "progressive" agenda item implementation by imperial edict.

What Media Does: Examining a Narrative Construct

"You've seen this before. When the left wants to make one of their 'facts' seem like conventional wisdom, they will bring in 'experts' from academia and 'progressive' think tanks - who always claim to be non-partisan - to reinforce whatever nonsense the left is trying to pull over on the American public.

This is precisely what Soledad O'Brien tried to do by bringing Dorothy Brown to her show to get the 'facts' on Critical Race Theory. As you'll see, these 'facts' are really just the narrative they want to promote."

Imagine that!

Attention "Progressives": Can't decide whether to vote for Obama again?

Here's some help.

Your 15 Question Quiz on Whether to Vote for Obama in 2012 - John Hawkins - Townhall Conservative Columnists

Team Obama: "Give us four more years to finish the job!"

Complex Societies Need Simple Laws - Reason Magazine

‎"Big-government advocates will say that as society grows more complex, laws must multiply to keep up. The opposite is true. It is precisely because society is unfathomably complex that laws must be kept simple. No legislature can possibly prescribe rules for the complex network of uncountable transactions and acts of cooperation that take place every day."

But our current statist crowd in the White House thinks they just need another four years to cover the rest of the things they haven't gotten around to regulating.

I think their not-so little infringement on every aspect of American life needs to be halted as soon as possible. We need to pray that the damage they've inflicted isn't permanent.

Why is Eric Holder still in office?

Nowhere better is the obnoxiousness of the Obama Administration better displayed than Eric Holder, the most divisive, arrogant, and thoroughly agenda-driven AG since the Nixon years

The Troubled Mind of Eric Holder

Excerpt:
"This is the controlling thesis – perhaps the only thesis – that occupies Eric Holder’s mind: any public policy he disfavors can’t be motivated by honest disagreements about first principles or empirical realities; it must the product of prejudices buried deep within the subconsciousness of its proponents. "

Is liberalism lazy and immoral?

Short answer: probably so.

"The American work ethic can be eroded though and will be, Brooks argues, by an expanding welfare state. It isn't just that people who believe life to be unfair demand that governments 'equalize"'outcomes. It's that once governments undertake to equalize things, people begin to believe that success is more a matter of luck than hard work. A 2005 study of 29 countries found that where taxes are high and wealth is redistributed through social programs, people are much more likely to believe that success is a result of luck.......

'Ireland has a very different attitude to success than a lot of places...In the United States, you look ... in the mansion on hill, and you think ... one day, if I work really hard, I could live in that mansion. In Ireland, people look ... in the mansion on hill and go, one day, I'm going to get that bastard.'

That's the spirit of the Democratic Party. It's the mode of President Obama's demonization of 'millionaires and billionaires.' If successful, Brooks warns, it will smother the greatest engine for prosperity -- especially for the poor -- in human history."
No doubt.

Potential Barack Obama-isms

Funny Twitter feed of the Day.

Why Obamanomics/Krugmanomics has failed us

"High, persistent unemployment and a sluggish economy underscore what all but the most-dedicated supporters of Barack Obama know to be true: The president's 2009 stimulus program was a massively expensive bust."

"The ground rules for stimulus dollars, as laid out by Obama’s top economic adviser at the time, Larry Summers, were based on the insights of legendary 20th-century economist John Maynard Keynes. The funds were to be 'targeted' at resources idled by the recession, and the interventions were to be “temporary” and 'timely,' injected quickly into the economy.

None of that turned out to be true. 'Even if you were to believe that government spending can trigger economic growth,' says Reason columnist Veronique de Rugy, a senior research fellow at George Mason University’s Mercatus Center,'the money is never spent in a way that’s consistent with the conditions laid out by the Keynesians for it to be efficient.' Moroccan girl commits suicide after being forced to marry her rapist

"Traumatized by the painful experience of rape, Amina decided to end her life by consuming rat poison in the house of her husband’s family, according to the Moroccan daily al-Massae.

According to the newspaper, this type of forced marriage is rooted in local rural traditions to safeguard the honor of girls who are raped.

Moroccan penal code exempts a rapist from punishment if he agrees to marry his victim."

"The Left's War on Language"

We see the evidence of the situation described below on a daily basis in our news and internet media locally and nationally on a daily basis. When confronted over their obnoxious behavior, the standard response is "who, us?", or a deflection tactic, or just plain outright demagoguery.

Tim Daughtrey:

"For years, the radical left has pitted old against young, black against white, employees against employers, customers against banks, women against men, and illegal aliens against the rest of us. The tactic benefits the left in the short-term by creating voting blocs that are easy to mobilize, and in the long-term by eroding the cultural norms of personal responsibility and respect for the rights of others, as those norms impede the growth of government."

Obamacare WILL fund abortion

Remember how our "progressive" pals insisted that Obamacare would not fund abortion? We told them they were WRONG then. They continue to be wrong today.

‎"Nestled within the 'individual mandate' in the Obamacare act — that portion of the Act requiring every American to purchase government — approved insurance or pay a penalty — is an 'abortion premium mandate.' This mandate requires all persons enrolled in insurance plans that include elective abortion coverage to pay a separate premium from their own pockets to fund abortion. As a result, many pro-life Americans will have to decide between a plan that violates their consciences by funding abortion, or a plan that may not meet their health needs."

More Climate Alarmist fraud

It's worse than the original....

Climate Depot's Marc Morano:

"It appears that Climategate 2.0 has arrived to drain what little life there was left in the man-made global warming movement.

The new emails further expose the upper echelon of the UN IPCC as being more interested in crafting a careful narrative than following the evidence. The release of thousands of more emails is quite simply another victory for science."

Dems rely on voter fraud, says Dem | The Daily Caller

Which local Democrat pol(s) does this describe?

"But former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis told The Daily Caller that anti-fraud measures are needed to protect African-Americans from corrupt political bosses — many of them African-Americans themselves — who run Democratic Party machines in the South…

...‘What I have seen in my state, in my region, is the the most aggressive practitioners of voter-fraud are local machines who are tied lock, stock and barrel to the special interests in their communities — the landfills, the casino operators — and they’re cooking the [ballot] boxes on election day, they’re manufacturing absentee ballots, they’re voting [in the names of] people named Donald Duck, because they want to control politics and thwart progress,’ he told TheDC. ‘People who are progressives have no business defending those individuals.’”
