".....Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), one of six senators involved in bipartisan Finance Committee negotiations, all but declared the public option dead in the Senate. If the "consumer cooperatives" are run by a national board appointed by Obama, there's still no deal. The same applies if the other most obnoxious provisions and/or bad ideas of the proposed "reform" are not dumped, either.
'Look, the fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the United States Senate for the public option,' said Conrad, who has pushed an alternative proposal to create a network of consumer cooperatives, on Fox News Sunday. 'There never have been. So to continue to chase that rabbit, I think, is just a wasted effort.' "

Obama intends to remain in control of any and all plans.
ReplyDeleteThe idiocy of the democrats has been exposed. They NEEDED independents like me to support the public option.
ReplyDeleteWhen they started calling out "racist! rich fat whitey! you hate the poor! birther nazi!", they were not talking to you Bubba, they knew there was no way you'd support it. They were talking to me and all of the other independents who they depended on electing them. They did their careers no favors by trying to scare indy's into submission. It is obvious to me now that the democratic party and all it's progressiveness cares not for the values that set America apart from every other nation.

Bubba, I think we need to remain wary. I suspect they will try to do with the "exchanges" or cooperatives precisely what they were trying to do with the public option.
ReplyDeletebubba, just found you. "co-ops" need to be free from any government control or backing. Big Brother needs to back off and out.
ReplyDeleteIf all they do is play semantics, the well-informed dissenters I've met won't be fooled. They've read HR-3200. National healthcare is not wanted or needed. selahV
