Some folks think Sonia Sotomayor's a lock for the Souter seat at SCOTUS

Here's one who has that opinion , at Hot Air:

"Moving forward, I expect the operating word here to be “confirmability”. As Legal Insurrection explained, 60 votes in the Senate are worth a bucket of warm spit if you can’t get your appointee out of committee (hey, Benedict Arlen finally came through for the GOP, but I digress). Thus, I don’t expect a galvanizing pick in the mold of a Koh or a Kagan. In terms of sheer confirmability, Sonia Sotomayor is the only candidate a with a clear, filibuster-proof path…"

But after watching the video, and reading this, I wouldn't be so confident about her chances.

WTF?

“All of the Legal Defense Funds out there — they’re looking for people with Court of Appeals experience. Because it is — Court of Appeals is where policy is made...."

Of course, that little statement won't cause a ruffle in the feathers of all the Dem/Lefty/"Progressive" odd duck quacks who drool over the possibility of a Supreme Court that routinely makes up law as it goes along and decides policy and legislative matters without regard to the Constitution.

The rest of us will be more than a little outraged over this sort of nonsense.

Surber sums it up:
1. She favors socialist legal defense funds, which are really fronts for groups that want to legislate through the courts rather than the legislature.

2. She speaks in code.

3. She is deceitful.

In short, Barack Obama in a robe, except for making the mistake of being caught on video.
The arrogant Obamanation will nominate her anyway, and then we will hear the bitching and moaning about "partisan Republican mindless opposition" to Fearless Bleeder's Leader's agenda.

  1. For diversity's sake, I predict the next Justice will be a young, Muslim, lesbian female of Hispanic descent, physically challenged, unwed, with a bi-racial child born from artificial insemination somehow using embryonic stem cells in the process, just to make sure allllll the blocks are checked. Oh, and she'll be left-handed.
