Do you think inflation currently is "a clear and present danger"?

Mark Perry says not very likely.

  1. Much ado about nothing it seems. The LSM is attempting to make it look like the end is near when in all actuality it doesn't amount to much.

From what I can find food increased in July by 0.3% and the biggest part of that was meat and milk. But then milk prices have increased more than gasoline prices over the last number of years but no one seems to have taken note. Meat rises and falls continually with the variation of seasons. Meat will go up at holiday times as most will note (as does gasoline)in case some haven't noticed. So discount the rise in inflation on food due to 4th of July demand for ribs, brisket, steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs. Only vegans would not have noted the rise in meat prices for the holidays but then of course that would have been reason for them to rejoice. ( I couldn't resist that one)

Another part of the slight rise in core inflation was due to the 0.7 which reflected big gains in the prices of passenger cars and light trucks, pharmaceutical preparations and plastic products.

So while Obama and his zombies will attempt to make a big deal out of this, it ai't. I 've seen worse in my life time, say about the time Jimah Carter was in office. Inflation numbers hit double digit and that didn't include what was known as the "misery index" which links employment and inflation. They change how that was figured in Clinton's administration I believe.

  2. Ah, but the economic babble, dribble, drool, and spew we get from Libthinkers suggests that we're all on the verge of a Mega Economic Disaster, which can only be averted by installing Obama and the rest of the Looney Tooners in power.
