There was no "cold-blooded murder" committed at Haditha by our Marines.
Key point:
"There was a crime, but it was the media and Rep. Murtha who committed it against heroic Marines whose careers have been destroyed and some of whose families were bought to the edge of bankruptcy defending their sons."
No big deal, right?
Not for those who will SAY or DO ANYTHING to further a political agenda item, no matter the truth and no matter the damage or cost it inflicts on our nation, our people, and to those who defend us.
The tendency of much of the left, and the media, to hyperconcentrate on the alleged misdeeds of our men and women in uniform is a terrible mistake. the media coverage of Abu Ghraib was probably a major turning point from the standpoint of how freely and aggressively Bush could prosecute the war.
ReplyDeleteAnd the guys at Haditha, like our local police, cannot gain back the months or years spent under investigation and suspicion and trial; and it is also difficult for them to regain their reputation.
that was me...

Dems shout out the worst possible implications of anything, real or imagined, which they think will harm Republicans.
ReplyDeleteIf it's later proven to be a lie or an outright, deliberate gross misrepresentation, they merely shrug, "Well, I misspoke." and everyone goes on as if nothing happened. The Hillary/Bosnia sniper lies come to mind.
However, you can't unring a bell. Dems rely on immediate outrage (which is their goal) when they tell their lies thru the MSM and the complicity of the MSM to cover it up later on.
