Of course, from Kerry's "limo-liberal" perspective, I suppose that a black guy who lives in a $2-million Georgian mansion on Chicago's South Side (with a little help from Tony Rezko) appears to have been "oppressed and repressed through the years."
Kerry's cosmological assessment notwithstanding, the real Obama is not quite so benign.

They speak of unity, but they foment division, appealing to the worst in human nature by separating Americans into dependent constituencies.

They resist open discussion and debate of their views, yet seek to silence dissenters.
They protest for natural order while advocating for homosexuality and abortion.
They assert their First Amendment rights, except, of course, when it comes to religion, whence they impose the doctrines of secular atheism on everyone else.
They decry SUVs, except those that they own.
They advocate mass transit but commute on private jets.
They believe trial lawyers save lives and doctors kill people.
They believe the solution to racism is to treat people differently on the basis of the color of their skin rather than the content of their character.
They deride moral clarity because they can't survive its scrutiny.

While the video shows that Kerry's comments were positive, hopeful and awfully damn reasonable, let's demonstrate here the lengths to which somebody went to distort them.
The dissembling begins right off the bat. Kerry didn't say "Because he's African-American" in response to the question of why Obama is qualified to be president, as the original post so grossly misrepresents.
"Because he's African-American..." was offered by Kerry as an answer to the question of why he thought Obama could "stand up to this radical misinterpretation of a legitimate religion."
The ellipses following "to maybe even give power to moderate Islam ..." conveniently exclude what followed: "To be able to stand up against this radical misinterpretation of a legitimate religion."
The attack on "lefties" isn't going to work. Not when it relies on lies and fabrications. Not when what the "lefties" are saying is thoughful and appealing.

Sounds like Kerry is lying again. Obama never saw a day of oppression or repression in his life. Private rich boy schools , a life of leisure and no real job in his entire life.
Wonder if Kerry will change his mind later with , Well , I was for Obama before I was against him. I was mislead. LOL
