Ed the Troll

Read the article and the comments in this latest example of Cone's unmitigated arrogance over at JR's.

Here's my reply:

(quoting Cone)

"I never touched a comment for about five years. That experiment failed."

I won't begin to list the amount and the content of the support I've received since you pulled your little stunt, but it's a clear indication that you bear the majority of the blame for the situation at hand.

You have consistently and deliberately misrepresented other people's contributions to your blog, and have continuously instigated the trouble by your own words and actions. You are the classic troll on your very own blog and your "who, me" disclaimers are wearisome.

Your obnoxious and insidious reaction to those with whom you don't agree is legendary.

You are not fooling anybody.

Do what you need to do.

I'm tired of being a convenient excuse for your own bad behavior.

  1. Bubba,

This battle ain't worth it. I told you abot one of his ideological soulmates getting way off of topic without a harsh word from Cone. Appears there are two sets of rules. One for those who argues fiercly for a position contrary to Ed's conventional wisdom and one for his sychophants .

Your comments have had plenty of relevant facts. Sure tempers have flared but that is life on the street. But on balance you usually contribute to the dicussion in a contrarian way, which is apparently not welcome.

    Carry on.

  2. Of course you are right, Bubba. The tactic has been discussed by too many people to be dismissed.

Fred is dead on, too. We've had this discussion before. Over at Cone's there are two sets of rules. It's not fair, but it's his blog. My biggest problem is his refusal to acknowledge it.

  3. "My biggest problem is his refusal to acknowledge it."

We do not need to give up holding him accountable for his words and actions.

He may control his blog, and exercise some level of influence in the local blogosphere, but we know that his insidious influence is (deservedly) waning as new voices become heard.

We do not need to continue assuming the role of his convenient scapegoats.

  4. I will say my piece shortly on my own blog. I thought the post at JR's was a self-serving farce. Like Cone, Mr. Robinson refuses to asknowledge his contribution to the state of the way things are. I like the word "sychophants" and think it applies in terms of much of the commentary (and not-so-subtle negative "us v. them" inferences) to be found on that thread.

If you have not read Brenda Bowers's response to JR (on her blog), do so. It is spot-on. I felt like saying, "Amen, Sister!"

Bubba, really I admire they way you have taken Cone on.

  5. I contributed over on JR's blog and almost tore into Ed again last night. But I didn't. I think it only gives him yet another opportunity to try and make himself look good with JR's blessing.
    Screw him.
