Meanwhile, as we sleep.....

The coming tsunami grows even more dangerous.

Noteworthy:"

“Any tax increase on top of this rising burden would put America well on the way to European-level taxes, causing European-style economic stagnation, slow income growth, and unemployment. Even France has begun to recognize how damaging such levels are, and French President Jacques Chirac has proposed to cut France’s corporate income tax rate from 33 percent to 20 percent. Congress must ensure that the U.S. does not take even one step down the road to higher taxes and a slower economy. Instead, it should face up to the challenge of entitlement spending."

  1. Doesn't it seem a bit disingenuous to say that we can't raise the taxes paid by people making over 100K, while saying that we need "entitlement reform"?

Entitlement reform is quite simply an attempt to back out of a deal that was made with wage earners. Wage reform sounds better than "cutting social security benefits." The Heritage Foundation's nomenclature czar seems to have struck again.

Listening to people like The Heritage Foundation have gotten us where we are today (Iraq, N. Korea, Iran, Energy, Huge Deficits, Global Instability, etc.) I am glad that no one takes them seriously except the right-wing flat-earthers.

  2. Sure thing. Whose entitlements should we start with? VA benefits?

  3. Two non-responsive comments.

One of you doesn't think there's any problem with raising taxes, and then makes a non sequitur diversion.

The other makes a point designed to deflect attention away from the subject matter of the article.

Both of you need to go back and read the article.

You should then be able to make intelligent comments on the topic without the knee-jerk reactionary remarks that support your world views.
