And yet NOTHING continues to be done about it

Not a real big suprise to read this story, is it?

WHEN do we get serious about solving ALL the problems illegal immigration brings upon us?

HOW LARGE a price will we have to pay for our failures to control this?

WHEN will some people stop putting impediments in the way of a solution?

  1. I actually laughed at this story.

    The funny part was this:

"Iranian currency, military badges in Arabic, jackets and other clothing are among the items that have been discovered along the banks of the Rio Grande River."

As if the Iranian intelligence officers were smart enough to dump their incriminating evidence before they get on American soil, but dumb enough to not do so until they got to the river. It just seems to dumb to be true. Did that set off your BS sensor Bubba?

"Damn! I knew I should have changed all my money at the airport"

  2. Is that the best you can do for criticism?

Or shall we asume you don't care about the issue, or perhaps think the problem really doesn't exist?

  3. You're doomed Bubba. Your children, nieces and nephews will start marrying Latinos and your race will be assimilated.

    They are The Borg.

  4. It may well be an issue, but honestly, If I was going to sneak into the country, I'd choose a better path than through Laredo, TX. I also find that the "evidence" cited is unlikely. If you want to make a case, let's find some better evidence. Iraqi Dinars on a path sounds like it is a bit too easy to fake.

Our Gov't is so ineffective in almost every aspect of homeland security. Let's inspect cargo ships, let's xray all baggage, Let's come up with sensible restrictions for the flying public. I think that it is simply a ploy to get funds sent to the southern border. I hear almost no one talking about keeping those damn Canadians out of the country. I fear that if the Mexicans were a bit more ...well... uhhh...pale... This wouldn't be a source of distraction.

Just like the notion that "We Democrats have a solution to the immigration problem, and the War on Terror", huh?

If it was as easy to do it as to say it, it would be done already.
The size of the challenge and the cost of meeting it is unbelievably expensive. You think the deficits are bad now? Try pouring hundreds of billions into inspecting each and every cargo ship, coupled with the bottlenecking of goods entering the country from the holdup for inspection and driving up prices. Economically disastrous.
Why don't we go to each of the 15,000 or so cities on the coastlines of the U.S. and put a $30 million dollar FEMA supply outpost in each one to avoid Katrina-like problems? Sounds easy, doesn't it? Economically disastrous.
If the government did everything even remotely possible to combat each and every imaginable terrorist or natural disaster you would be paying 99.9% of your wages in taxes to fund these programs.
Like any budget, the government has restrictions. Remember, every $$$ the government spends comes out of our pockets.
