"Lebanon, Gaza, Iraq, and Afghanistan are not separate conflicts. They are battlefields in a regional war. "

Key point:
"The longer we wait, the larger the real war becomes. Iran has been at war with us for 27 years and we have yet to respond. As time passes, and our fecklessness is confirmed, the mullahs’ confidence grows. Surely they must believe that their moment has come, that we will never respond, that they can bloody us and force us to retreat. That is the clear lesson of Lebanon, and they are undoubtedly raising the stakes for the next round."
Most certainly.
I agree fully with the “key point“ Bubba, but not with his suggested strategy. In fact, I think he is a fool. Sorry. There are no people in the Middle East who want freedom and democracy. We are indeed working with the “people” in Iraq to give them the opportunity for a democracy and they are letting old hatreds destroy any hope they may have to come into the 21st. century. Look at the free elections in Egypt, Lebanon, the Palestinian areas and even Iran itself and look who the people elected. They elected either pragmatic dictators or terrorists dictators! “Our most potent weapon against them remains the rage and courage of their own peoples. We must support those people, we must openly call and work for regime change in Syria and Iran.” Dear lord. I say again, the man is a fool! BB
ReplyDeletePS: of course there is one gigantic difference between us: he is getting paid big bucks for his opinion and I am getting shouted down for mine. LOL BB
