Ahmedinejad thinks you should be.
Noteworthy:
"If you want to have good relations with the Iranian people in the future, you should acknowledge the right and the might of the Iranian people, and you should bow and surrender to the might of the Iranian people. If you do not accept this, the Iranian people will force you to bow and surrender."
Certain Dems won't understand that. It's not "nuanced" enough.
I bet Joe Lieberman understands it, though.
Ahmedinejad is talking out of his rear end ... and, not concidentally, hanging on to his job by the skin of his teeth. If he pulls anything more than letting Hezbollah lob another few Katyushas, he knows that it won't just be Israel and the U.S. coming for him, it'll be a significant number of Iranians.
ReplyDeleteDude, I've gotta stop stepping on your blog posts with mine. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing that we chose the same snippet.
Lex,
ReplyDeleteCan what are the Vegas odds of a revolution in Iran? Do you have inside info ?
Fec: I didn't have a blog post. Besides, it's a free world. Say what you want.
ReplyDeleteFred: Ida know, but in the Arab world when your popularity rating gets down close to 20 degrees below freezing, you've got to figure the odds are close to 50-50, at least.
I think Fec was referring to me.
ReplyDeleteActually, Fec.....I believe I was the one who stepped on you the last time within an hour or so.
Doesn't matter-- the points were valid.
What is making me shudder is the number of people in the country and even the world who are not “listening” to what the Muslim world is telling them. It doesn’t matter what leader comes or goes, the message is always, and has always been, the same. Note: Israel must be eliminated and the infidel must convert or die. The only difference now is that Iran is getting the teeth to go with the loud and tough talking mouth. When they annihilate Israel will the rest of the world be blackmailed. I am beginning to fear that it will; that the young haven’t learned the lessons taught by the big bullies like Hitler, the Gauls, the vikings and Caesar. It seems this is the way however. The lesson is taught and then over a few generations of peace it is lost and another bully has to surface. Well the current bully is the teachings of Islam, but the young who will have to find the will to fight the fight aren’t paying attention. BB
ReplyDeleteLex,
ReplyDeletePublic opinion polls in Iran. Ha. As I have said before you just caused a wave of giggling in the jury box. You no doubt had a strong belief in the truth of the 99% of the popular vote Saddam used to get before he went to the spider hole. From the certainty of your prediction I thought you were privy to some obsure loony blogger who was making up intelligence reports.
For some insight into the Iranian political leader vs religious leader interactions, Mark Bowden's new book "Guests Of The Ayatollah" goes into that subject in some depth. It's not as cut and dried as one might think. Bowden's book also delves into Ahmedinejad's role in the 1979 hostage taking.
