"* Households would face a gross annual burden of $125.9 billion per year or $1,042 per household, with costs disproportionately borne by low-income households.
* On a net basis, the top income quintile will benefit financially, redistributing to these households roughly $12.3 billion per year from the bottom 80 percent of earners.
* Households over age 75 bear the largest burden at 2.3 percent of income, followed by households aged 65-74 and under age 25 at 2.1 percent. By contrast, the nation’s highest-earning households between age 45 and 54 years would bear the smallest percentage burden of just 1.5 percent."

Cap 'n Trade: Another half million jobs down the tubes
But wait,there's more:
Meanwhile, 70 days later......
.... the Obamanation finally accepts foreign aid for the Gulf oil disaster.
Key point:
The astute non-"progressive" reader will note that no explanation was forthcoming from The One regarding why the aid was not accepted when first offered at the onset of the catastrophe.
Obama OWNS this disaster.
But what difference should that make to him? He already owns so many disasters, what difference will one or two (or 20 or 30) make to his legacy of a failed president?
Anticipating fresh blood, Bill and Hillary continue to work quietly behind the scenes.........
Key point:
"More than 30 countries and international organizations have offered to help with the spill. The State Department hasn't indicated why some offers have been accepted and others have not."

Playing the health care reform game in Massachusetts
Individuals are gaming the the Massachusetts prototype of Obamacare's health care "reform."
Noteworthy:
"Some Massachusetts consumers seem to be buying the health insurance they are required to carry when – and only when – they have health problems.
...The Massachusetts Division of Insurance decided to commission a study of the individual health market in the summer of 2009, when health carriers told the division they were seeing spikes in utilization among newly enrolled individual plan members.

'The health carriers indicated that more individuals were terminating coverage after having expensive medical procedures,' Welch and Giesa say.
...The percentage of individuals terminating coverage within their first year increased to 24% in 2008, from 14% in 2006.
One-year lapse rates increased dramatically both for low-cost individuals and high-cost individuals, with the number growing 223% between 2006 and 2008, to about 2,141, for high-cost individual subscribes, and more than 400%, to 24,000, for the low-cost subscribers."
Imagine that!
No, there's no gaping holes in the abomination known as Obamacare/Health Care "Reform", is there?
We have yet to see the extent of the horrors from the coming disaster they've inflicted upon us.

Absurd political laugh of the day
"Kagan promises 'impartiality' as hearings begin":
"Kagan said that the high court's role should 'be a modest one' and said the justices 'must be properly deferential to the decisions of the American people and their elected representatives."'She cited her her immigrant grandparents who 'came to this country in search of a freer and better life for themselves and their families.'"And if confirmed, she will certainly do her best to ensure increased government control and intervention into every aspect of society, leading to a less free and poorer life for the rest of us who don't belong to the political elite, or related affinity/"victim" groups.
So you thought Health Care "Reform" was full of smoke and mirrors?
Welcome to Financial "Reform".

"Sleep tight tonight, America, your Congress is in control. "
Dem election strategy: Look for opponents' 'macaca' moments
I guess that's probably your only recourse when your national congressional candidates have nothing to offer for their party's failure of the last two years.
Noteworthy:
Noteworthy:
"A couple of weeks ago, when we broke the story about (NC) Rep. (Badass Bob) Etheridge roughing up some student videographers, Democrats and the media were obsessed with finding the students in the video and determining whether they were employed by the GOP.Yeah, right. I'm sure the Dems will respond that way.
The DNC even issued talking points, arguing that Etheridge’s behavior would be excused if the students were campaign operatives. We await such hand-wringing if a GOP member is embarrassed on video this summer."

Lucy Phone: A great alternative to being put on "Ignore"
This sounds like a promising service for people who try to reach customer service at almost any business, and end up being put into what amounts to "Forget" or "Ignore" mode.
Details:
"A new company, LucyPhone, is offering a solution: when put on hold, users can hang up, and are then called back when a customer service representative finally picks up. On the free service’s Web site, LucyPhone.com, users type in a customer service number (or click on one of many stored on the site), as well as their own. The company also has submitted a free iPhone application to Apple, which it expects to be approved soon."
This idea could eventually be worth billions to the inventors.
